:argue: <== I think this shows how it is sometimes.

A constant self-battle with myself to commit to losing the weight but this time I'm really going to stick to it.

Some things about me:

+ I'm Zora
+ Middle-eastern background (big family dinners, lots of starch, curse how delicious it is)
+ Going to school full-time and working part-time as a waitress (I've gained 5 since working there)
+ I'm using the BodyMedia armband since 29th of April (this past Monday)
+ I go to the local 24 hour fitness gym
+ Just did my first body pump class yesterday and dear God, my legs are sore.
+ I tend to be "easy" on myself...Like enjoy this meal, you're celebrating something-that-doesnt-matter-but-excuse-to-eat syndrome.
+ Huge how I met your mother fan
+ Looking forward to meeting wonderful people here

Hi and welcome!

Congrats on making the first steps toward a healthier you!
Good for you that you managed to find time between school and work to go the gym, keep going!

Just a thought:
It's nice to grant yourself a treat once in a while, but if you do it all the time it's not a treat anymore, is it? ;)

My husband and I are watching this together, almost to season four. I've started using my cross trainer while we watch, watching is now the reward for exercising. I know that sounds crazy, but I love the show so it's a good motivational tool.

Welcome to the forum, from one newb to another :)

Welcome to the forum.

A lot of us face an internal struggle... I have a saint and a sinner inside me... Part of me can be very good - but I can be far too weak at times too...

It is great that you are fitting the gym in with your other commitments. I have done a couple of body pump classes when we were staying at a hotel which had a gym which did it... It was fun. I am currently addicted to hardcore zumba... I know what you mean about feeling your legs... I can feel my legs now after tonight's class...

I hope that you enjoy spending time at our forum and make lots of great friends here... I must admit that I made some very close friends here on my big project 6 years ago... My FB friends list is full of people that used to come here then - LOL I see them there every day... It is great to make friends with people that face the same demons every day...

I suggest that you read the following thread - it may help you settle in and make friends

Good luck with your project.
