I'm currently 22 years old, male and living in England. I'm roughly 6'6 tall (havnt had myself measured for some time) and at a unknown weight.. (Too heavy for the bathroom scales!) at a guess i'd say i'm pushing the 25 stone mark (about 350lb for you yanks
So as you can see I'm a very big guy, and at only 22 my weight gain is becoming a problem.
I used to be incredibly active, i played rugby (american football without wussy pads basically) for over 5 years and got to a fairly decent level. Training would take place two times a week with a hour at least of each session on a extreme fittness problem (a instructor from the marines took the class) and at least one gym session with the team also we'd be expected to go alone.
I also worked as a swimming instructor for kids during this period, even in the shallow end you'd get a very good workout walking through water for a number of hours.
The problem with my weight is simple i believe...
BEER
Being a manly man, going to the pub and having a few became a huge habit for me, lead me to give up rugby and i'd probably say affected my first time at university.
Being huge, it will take huge amounts of beer to get me to the merry state we all enjoy. I'm talking nights out consuming close to 25 pints of beer...
It got to the point i became a living legend around here, being able to put so much away.. I remember one such night in a nightclub after probably 10+ pints of beer i developed a trademark which on a good day makes me smile and on a day day go "what the f**k is happening inside me".. The trick was to neck a bottle of red wine in one go out of the bottle.
Some of your fittness types may gasp at this, and probably few of you think im at the wrong place and need help with my drinking. Which i do need to cut down, but the addiction of beer isn't the problem for me. I have and can cut it out of my lifestyle as i please with little problems.
The problem for me is the culture of drinking.
This lead on to my diet, i've never ate correctly but i wouldn't say i eat abnormally high amounts of food. yet after a few beers the bags of chrisps come out and high fatty foods.
Sorry for the ever so long introduction, but this has been playing on my mind for some time and i intend on using this forum to keep myself focused.
I shall be starting a diary at some point today, no goals as yet just to look at what im doing and work from there.
Thanks
