Hello everyone,

I am a newbie here and have just started my weight loss challenge. I already have so many questions. I started a Biggest Loser Challenge in my town and have 11 contestants. Things are going great so far.

Hello Kathleen, welcome to the Forum. From one fellow Albertan, to another. :)

Thank you for the welcome.

I know, I do the same thing. My summers are really busy so that could partly be why I do it. This is the time of year I can actually relax and think for a change.

Where would I post a question about my workout regimen and why i possibly didn't get the weight loss I had expected. I just started a few weeks back and am very new to exercise and eating plans. Some forums are real finicky on where you post.

orrrrr

you can start up your own diary, finding support through helping other's in their diaries is a big help, even if it's just a friendly hello once in awhile. :)

Loads of great information in the stickies: kind of like the Head Notes in each sub forum at the top of the page.

Welcome Kathleen! I'm also a BIG fan of the Biggest Loser - the show has been a big source of inspiration in my own journey to lose 140 lbs for sure! Keep up that great work and keep us posted on your progress. :)

pseymour, 140 lbs... oh my goodness, that is amazing. So, how did you do it? Did you do it with Body For Life? Would love to hear your success story

I'm not quite there yet - I am 110 down. ;) I didn't follow a particular program - just got really dedicated with goal setting and went from being a couch potato to working out regularly (over time). I had gained a lot of the weight eating fast food and eating out in general, so cooking (pretty healthy) for myself helped a lot as well. I count calories and pretty much track everything too.

If you don't mind saying, how much do you want to lose and where are you in the process? Hope I can be supportive! :)

I want to lose about 60 and that will get me to 160lbs. I know I will probably want to lose more but I am setting my goal to 160. I have been overweight so long, I don't even know what 160 will look like on me.

Right now I am doing Weight Watchers and an hour on my treadmill going from 2.5 up to 3.5 then back down to 2.5. I do aqua size twice a week and try to do some step classes throughout the week as well. I want to do Body For Life but I don't want to give up my aqua size and treadmill.

I have lost 11.5 lbs in my three week journey so far. It seems like so little but I know it is a great loss.

Thanks, I need all the support with this that I can get

Kathleen

Kathleen, it sounds like you are doing awesome so far! 11.5 lbs lost is not shabby at all! Keep it up and continue to look ahead at all the wonderful things you want to do and feel! You will get there and really you are passed the most difficult part (in my opinion) which is getting started! :)
