Hi all!
My name is Alex, I'm 28 years old and I'm currently living in a beautiful town in the Austrian Alps. I've signed up here in search of a (penny pinching) diet and exercise regime that might improve my quality of life. Currently I'm 180cm/5'11" and I weigh 65kg/143pounds. I realise that this doesn't sound too bad but please believe me that a high-metabolism and trying to live on a budget has its draw backs. I suffer from fatigue and feel drained of energy most of the time - this not only has physical impact but emotional too.
Last summer I spent a few months circumnavigating the UK on a sailing yacht - lots of exercise and lots of food. Myself and another young guy who is also prone to the chronic skinnies worked out that we were both eating well over 5k calories a day. In those months I gained 10kg/22pounds and felt as though I was approaching a weight and body shape that was both healthy and felt good.
Since I stopped living in a moving room which had ropes to pull and winches to grind and since I stopped eating such an expensive and high calorie diet I've lost all the weight and am left feeling more destroyed than ever.
I'm not trying to "body-build" - I have a light frame and am well toned - I also just cannot afford to eat 20 chickens a day, buy training equipment or gym membership fees. I've got an exercise ball, a yoga mat and a busted up exercise bike (circa 1980's) which has 2 setting - free wheeling and vertical climb...
I'm hoping to find some information here that will help me feel better physically and emotionally.
Any advice or direction to relevant information within these forums would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading and best wishes on all your fitness journeys!
