Hello everyone

Just wanted to say hi :)
I am a basketball player and hopefully after I am done with bball I can start enjoying fitness. I love working out, I enjoy shaping my body so I am hoping that fitness would be the right way to go.
I am totally new to fitness and right now I am just trying to gather information on what are different kids of fitness, are there gyms that run some programs? what are the possibilities to compete?
Any input is welcomed.
