Hello everyone

Hi, my name is Jon and i'm from NW Ontario Canada. I'm 21 years old (soon to be 22) and weigh 230lbs. I've struggled over the years with depression, anxiety and of course my weight; all of which tie in together.

My family has a history of thyroid problems (although I don't really understand the whole "thyroid" thing), and have heard it can contribute to a person's weight issues. That is not an excuse though.

I would appreciate it if someone would be kind enough to help me with a fitness and diet plan as I plan on starting at the gym on Monday.

One thing I should add: I have trouble eating sometimes, and often enough my mouth just doesn't want to accept the food.

Welcome! When you start at the gym ask if they do exercise equipment orientations. Normally these are included with memberships and teach you how to use the equipment. You can ask questions as you go to get a good idea of a workout plan. The staff are there to help you and keep you coming back.

Thank you for your post, I definitely will do so! :)

Hey there :) First off, I am starting to learn that eating is the best way to lose weight, of course you need to smart about it, so ... eeaaattt ! Your metabolism is key, when it comes down to fitness plans look up couch to 5k, it starts of very lightly and gradually works its way up, I think that is a good program for people that don't necessarily have experience.

Hi Jon, Maybe start off on the treadmill or some other cardio. What i've found that worked for me was I did a 10 day transformation cleanse back in December 2013. After this cleanse i've changed my lifestyle by making healthier choices when eating. So far I have lost 18 lbs and continue to lose weight and am now 5-6 sizes down since. I needed something to kick start my weight loss and help me to be healthier. It has helped me tremendously as i no longer crave sweets and I feel healthier then i've ever been by drinking green organic shakes. I am ready to go back to the gym to tone my body. Good luck! :hurray:
