Hey, my name is JP and I'm a 20 year old guy. I weigh around 188 and I'm about 5'7. My goal weight is 150-160. Every year I keep telling myself "this is the year I'm going to lose the weight" but it never ends up happening but honestly, I'm sick of not reaching my full potential and being the person I can be. I know I can lose the weight and I joined this website to help with that endeavor. I look forward to meeting any new people and to start living a healthier life. LET'S DO THIS!!!
 
Welcome to the forum, JP. Like you, I am 5' 7" - ok, more like 5' 7ish" :eek: However, I am much more of a fat shit than you are, currently weighing in at near 250 lbs, HAHAHA. Anyway, I've had my ups and downs. I've been 200, 290, 240, 215, 260, etc. I'm the same as you in a way - I always tell myself, "THIS is the year," but then I never do shit about it. My motivation is there...it just never sticks around.

However, this forum is a GREAT place to keep motivation. I joined here a few years back and lost 70 lbs during my initial stretch after joining here. Then I left the forum and ballooned back up to near Santa Claus proportions. But, now I'm back and ready to kick some ass. It sounds like you're here to do the same.

So, do yourself a favor and start a journal - most all of us here have one. Post updates on your progress, vent your frustrations, ask questions, hell...post pictures of Cats in Hats if you want to...

Whatever you do, just stick around. There are lots of supportive people here on WLF, many of which can become true friends and motivators. Good luck, JP.
