Hey Hey Heyyyyy

Hello my name is Matt and i am deff new to anything like this i guess i will start with the basics im 24 i have two wonderful sons one is almost 6 the other is a little over 3 months and i have been trying my hardest to shed this weight thing i jumped on the scale for the first time in around 3 years in Feb. of this year and was in complete shock i was tipping it at 323lbs i was scared to death i am 5"7 so i started this journey then bought a stationary bike and re introduced myself to sit ups and cut ALL junk foods and soda out i am down to 241lbs as of today and am feeling wonderful i just wanted to share my story and ask anyone when winter comes along being stuck inside alot and all which would be a better choice to get a treadmill or elliptical? the bike is fine but i think i am ready to get something a little harder i do 5 miles in the morning on the bike and 50 sit ups and 5 miles at night and 50 sit ups every single day that was the hardest thing is to get into the routine of everything but it comes natural now so if you could give me a idea id be very thankful...:waving:

Welcome to the forum. Read the stickied threads, there's lots of great info in them. And start a diary...it's a great way to get feedback from other members and support. Good luck! :)

Welcome!

You came to the right place. There are tons of ideas and advice here on the forum. Like Jen_Renee said, a diary is great idea. I know it has probably been the most influential part of this site for me. Both writing my own and reading others.

There's a lot of support here, don't let it go to waste!!

Hi Matt. AWESOME weight loss. I personally like the elliptical (I am a personal trainer) due to the lower impact on the knees. You may not have to worry about that but I do (40 years old). I would consider adding in some resistance a couple of days each week. You can use free weights or bands, or try body weight training. Most of the equipment you will need for this will be minimal cost and very versatile. There are many resources online and you could even consider a video. Just make sure your form is correct. Consider hiring a trainer, even for 1 or 2 sessions to check your form so you don't get injured. Good luck!
