Hello!


I just turned 15 and I let my weight go way to far and I think its time for me to change. I'm a 5"8 guy weighing 282Ib.

I'm not a junk food eater but I eat a lot and me being a couch potato is not helpful. I was highly active around 6 years ago but I had a really bad leg injury and I wasn't allowed exercise for 4 months and couldn't do sports for at least 3 years (it was that bad) and I just never got active afterwards and I started eating a lot more.

So I finally decided today that I'm going to start losing this weight and be more healthy.

My Summer goal is to lose about 20-40ib and I want to lose about 120ib. Which means I would be around 160ib. I'm not 100% what would be my average weight for my size/age but that seems good, Correct me if I'm wrong.


Anyhow, I decided that to get some more help other than my parents I should check out this forum.

AWelcome to the forum, being only 15 (the same age as my middle son) you probably don't have a lot of say about the meals prepared or the shopping your parents do. What you do have control of us your portion sizes, too much good healthy food can still add on the fat so try and work out if you can reduce your meal sizes a bit at each meal but don't skip meals. Trying to loose to fast can lead to gaining it all back later.

With you leg injury can you do much exercise ? start trying to do some walking or grab a console game that makes you move around a lot.

Start a Journal in the diary section to track your food, exercise, progress and problems so other members can help you.
