Hi there! New here and looking for advice as well as hoping to share what I've learned. I don't need to lose much weight, just @ 15lbs, but I need to get back in shape. I'm not even 24 and I already have the beginning signs of arthritis. Rheumatoid runs in one side of my family. I watched my grandfather die of it, and it's kinda scary. I need to stay active to keep my joints healthy so I might as well tone up and look better too! I want kids soon and want to be able to play and run after them; not have a body and joints that feel way older than they really are! Last year I started working out almost everyday. I got really close to the body I always wanted, then a few things happened and it's been about 3 months since I stopped. Pretty much all the work I did has reversed! Now it's time to get there again. It should be easier this time, but discussion, motivation, and advice always helps so... here I am!

:) :D

Hi & Welcome to the WLF :)
Good for you for being so in control and doing what you need to do to reach your goals!

Have you talked to your doctor about taking gloucosamine on a regular basis for joints?

Thanks for the warm welcome. I am still trying to find a doctor. I've been to a few new ones but didn't like them. My old one is way to far to go to anymore. Two of the doctors I saw (and didn't like) both said I was worried too much. When my elbows or knees start to hurt, if I don't take ibuprofen within the first 20 min, I will soon be in so much pain I don't want to even move. The pain starts at the knee or elbow, then continues down to my wrist or ankle. It feels like the growing pains you get when you're a kid, only 100x more painful. It will even wake me up in the middle of the night. I think that's something to worry about. I am starting to take gloucosamine again and haven't had much pain lately. Sometimes it would happen a few times a week; sometimes I wouldn't have one for months.
