Hello everyone. My name is Marcus and I'm a 23 year old graduate student in the southeast US. After years of poor diet, no exercise, and a lot of unhealthy habits, I realized I had gained 43 pounds from my freshmen year in college.
14 weeks ago I drastically changed my lifestyle to try to get healthy. I've included maintaining a healthy diet, drinking 2 liters of water a day, aerobic exercise 7 days a week, and weight training 6 days a week. I've been nicotine free for 10 weeks (after 4 weeks on the patch) and have reduced my alcohol consumption by about 15-20 drinks a week (but not entirely quit drinking). I've consistently lost 2.5 pounds a week with a total weight loss of 35 pounds. I'm down from 210 to 175 and I'm 6 feet tall. I'm starting to see veins I didn't know I had and more and more muscle definition. I've lost about 3-4 inches from my waist and I finally feel great.
It's very exciting and I hope I can share some of my methods/thoughts with people who post around here. Being a younger male, I know I'm probably in the demographic prone to easiest weight loss, but I still would like to help anyone I can. I've done hours of research on the subject to come up with what I believe is the most sound approach to overall health & weight loss (no fads, no starvation, just healthy science). Good luck to everyone!
