Hello - another newbie wanting a buddy!

Hi everyone,

My name's Abbie, and I really want to lose some weight, and keep it off. I'll start by telling you a little bit about me.

I'm 20, and a Medical Student in the UK. At the moment I weigh about 165 lb and am 5 ft 6. I was very slim as a child, even though I had a huge appetite. When I started secondary school (aged 11) there were vending machines, and I began to eat more and more. I gained about 2 stone during the last 2 years of school.

When I started university, I went up to 178 lb in the 1st year. I then did the Cambridge Diet for a couple of months, and became 150 lb. Unfortunately, I put almost all the weight back on in the next year. In July of 2009, I weighed 174 lb. I then lost 9 lb in about 6 weeks, but haven't lost any more since.

I know that the way my weight has changed so much recently is very unhealthy, and I'm now determined to lose weight and keep it off. My goal is to weigh 140 lb by the 1st of January, giving me a BMI of 23.4 . I'm going to start a diary so I can keep track of what I'm doing.

I'd love a weight-loss buddy if there's anyone who wants to help?

Abbie

I can not be your buddy but...

Dear Abbie,
I can not be you buddy, but I can support your efforts and if you just need someone to talk to, I will be here often. Best diet is not one, here is all you really have to do, eat food that fills you up like protein foods, use the palm of your hand for the amount you eat. Eat walnuts, only three a night, because it helps you stop night eating, and if you can find it there is a product called Ganocoffee, I do not know where it can be found, but it removes fat, toxins and cleans you out, if you know what I mean. My friend used to bring me boxes of it. One a day does the trick. Moderation and motivation are my motto but you have to find what does it for you. Don't buy convenient but determined. Don't starve yourself or punish yourself from eating a treat, if you eat filling foods, like egg whites and a couple of piece of regular bacon in the morning, and do eat breakfast, you will find you won't be as hungry. Less eating means less food that just stays with you, unused and turning to fat. Finally enjoy you life, no matter what your weight is. Exercise a little and enjoy life a lot. Best wishes for a happier you and a weight that makes you happiest. :hurray:
