Hello All

Hi folks,

My name is Perry and just a newbie here, but not in the world of
exercises, fitness and the human anatomy.

I've been a practicing physical therapist for 25 years and now based in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia, USA.

I like helping people with issues on exercises and anatomy.

I believe that the only dumb question is the ones that are not asked.

So feel free to.

Much regards

Perry

hello there

My name is su and i'v put my name down to complete a 80 mile bike ride for cancer reserch, can you advise me on what i should be doing to perpare plesea.

Thank you

Thanks guys,

I apologize for not responding quicker, I've been away from computers, now I'm back.

Su, firstly, what's your fitness level? Or how long have you been in cycling?

If you have been doing it for a while, then continue to do what you have been doing that's working for you...and then some. That's 80 miles, not a joke. Considering different terrains(probably).

If you're still a novice, then you're really up to something here. How much time do you have to prepare for it? Do you have any pre-exisiting injuries or problems(that might get in the way) that bothers you presently? chronically?

If you're not fit enough or not have enough time to prepare, I suggest other cancer fund raising methods.

If you're fit enough to do it, I usually recommend hard core work for this stuff, 80 miles seems hard core for me. You can visit this site and just get an insight what working hard is all about.

gymjones.com or crossfit.com

Just incorporate a lot of spin classes into it.

It may not be what you're looking for, but check it for the concept.

Post away if you need more info.

Regards

Perry Pe, PT
