Hello all ;)

How is everyone doing today? Anyways, I'm Ant from NYC, Currently I'm 19 years of age and just recently started dieting. To get straight to the point, I've always wasn't heavy, but all through high school with a mix of games and what not it just builds over time..

I'm here to get support, share, and learn techniques that can help me ;) I do have a few questions and what not and hope you guys can help me with doing the right thing.

~2 Weeks Ago:

Age: 19
Weight: 226
Height: 5'9

~Today
Age: 19
Weight: 217 (this morning) (For some reason after eating my weight moves up and down.
Height: 5'9

I'm not sure what my goal weight should be or what should I be shooting for? Any ideas? I think my doctor said 165-175? Sound normal?

I'm not a fan of going to the gym, this early, because I rather not turn this fat into muscle. I rather burn this off and get to a goal weight and get cut.

I've tried the Jenny Craig diet line before, with decent results, but after awhile I get sick of eating the same PROCESSED frozen food over and over. I rather dig myself into something new fresh and cook it up with no worries of eating frozen "tv dinners." I have the right, M.O. (i think)... It's just the weekends that kill me, i'm italian so big DINNERS, and out to eat with the g.f. urgh!! :rotflmao:

Anyways, I'm a picky eater too so I love vegetables, chicken, red meats.. but hate seafood and whatnot. I try to keep away from red meats though and .. carbs, but pickup wheat bread if I dearly need it. I was an avid soda drinker, but cold turkey to when ever I dearly need it.. but it's been maybe like 1 can a week.. of ginger ale.. I love really COLD water now..

As for exercise.. I try to treadmill it atleast 3-4 nights a week.. @ 2.7 speed for 30-45 mins.. Any tips would be great!!

Thanks and hope I contribute and learn (always learn something new from new people) tips and what not! ;)

Thanks guys, really appreciate it.

Again, hello from n.y.c.

welcome to the site - first off I'd suggest settling in and reading the stickied threads around the forum to clear up some misconceptios that you might have.

That's normal behavior - your weight will fluctuate during the course of the day - pick one time of the day and use that as your weigh in - to give you consistant results.

For your height, that's reasonable but it could also depend on your bone structure - don't get too hung up on a specific number, but instead what you're seeing i the mirror and how you feel

Weight traiing helps tremendously with your metabolism... SO i strongly encourage it - -fat is fat and muscle is muscle -one doesn't turn into the other - lose t he fat and you'll get definition...

Better to have real food, in moderation, than processed stuff - learning how to eat for the rest of your life isa good thing.

that's not picky -that's relatively healthy..
