Hello everyone!

Alright here it goes. My name is Paul and I am only 18! yes 18! I am a first yest college student and a long time sports junky. I just graduated High school and I played basketball all four years for my school. I have always been BIG, At my prime when i was in excellent shape and able to run 6 miles, I was anywhere between 210-220 lbs. I am now 256 after only 6 months away from high school. I have never felt this heavy, and i can feel it. It makes simple things in life i used to do a little harder.

Anyways I just wanted to say I have the utmost respect for all of you on this site, those who have lost weight and those trying to lose weight, it is extremely difficult and takes extreme dedication and sacrifice. Congrats to all and keep doin your thing.

I am here to keep motivation with all of you. It is very difficult for me to lose weight because of my muscle mass. I have a lot of muscle but now a lot of fat too. The extra 40 or so lbs i put on are all fat. I dont lose weight easily because i have been excercising my whole life and played sports my whole life so my body is kinda used to the exercise. I am going to try my best and I will NOT give up. I want to get down to 210 or 215 but even more I just wanna feel good again.

If anyone has suggestions feel free to let me know!! thanks

- 5-6 balanced smaller meal portions per day
- 1-2 hour workout per day
- Lots of water

thats my plan hope it works, I have only been doing it for a week and I already feel better

free2ball_19, You can do it. Welcome to the forum. It you are trying hard & you aren't losing weight, then you should count your calories. It's all about calories in calories out. I know how bad you feel, we are about the same weight. Even though I feel great compared to when I was 309 Lbs. Enjoy the journey & never forget how you feel now. So you don't come back to it.

Thanks guys, I have no doubt that I can do it. Its gonna be hard but the only time you fail is when you quit, and thats not going to happen. I joined this to keep me on track so I can stay loyal. BillyBob, I was thinking before i start weight training like I use to, which I used to daily, I wanted to lose some fat first, for like the first month, and then after that begin lifting. How does that sound and what do you think? I know weight lifting increases metabolism and aids weight loss but i would really prefer to fit in my pants again before i start getting muscle mass. Let me know and keep it up guys.

I am here purely for weight-loss not body-building, but plenty here are looking to bulk up especially the men.

The forum is great for support and motivation -it has kept me on track on several occasions when I felt myself going off the rails a bit.

Anyway welcome & good luck. :)

I did it, I'm now waiting for the results. It wouldn't let me put my real age in though because I was under 20! (I'm 20 in 7 weeks lol.) But I guess it will still give me my "real age" accurately...
