Hi all.

In an effort to focus my weightloss goals, I started training for my third marathon - admittedly my last one was 10 years ago - and guess what? My body said no. The doc said my blood pressure is off the chart and we are still fiddling with regulating that. Regardless, now I have a new motivation for losing the weight which I thought would make it easier, but hasn't.

Doctor's orders that I'm still on restriction from cardio exercises due to the high blood pressure and this ex-runner feels a bit stumped as how to go about exercising without disturbing my heart too much. I hear ironing (horror or horrors) is a good calorie burner!

This is [officially] the second day of my program and while I'm not hungry at all, I'm literally gobsmacked at how bady I want to put just about anything into my mouth. I'm left with the suspicion that I'm afraid to go hungry. I'm worried that if I don't eat something, there is some dread that I might feel weak or need to eat in an emergency situation. Has anyone else had this feeling? Talk about a mind game!

I'm glad to find this site. I've been browsing on and off all day and it really warms my heart how much people share and care. I look forward to contributing.

One day at a time. There are definitely activities that are not to aerobic. Pretty much anything in the house as far as chores. Go play with some children, they definitely can make you sweat. I am new to the forum today so I guess we will be side by side on this journey. Add me to your friend and I will be able to add remarks or messages when I think of something or vice versa

oh wow thats got to be hard on you, and somewhat scarey.

Make sure you treat yourself as well so you dont feel deprived and starved. It helps a lot with the feelings of starvation or denile etc

Thanks for the greetings!

I'm really glad to be here. I never imagined there was so much to gain from a forum like this. Wonderful!
