Healthy weight?

Hello, I'm 17, a little over 5'5 and 124 pounds, is this a healthy weight for my age and height?

I read somewhere the appropriate weight was 140 pounds for my height and age.

are you fit and healthy,if so dont worry,if you want to gain weight do it correctly ie muscle not fat, although some fat may be needed depending on your BF%

BMI Is generally a very poor measure of health and fitness. You can be skinny fat and have a very high body fat percentage and be very unhealthy but be at a light body weight for your height and have a BMI in the acceptable range. Individuals like this do not have enough muscle mass to perform normal everyday tasks and stabalize their joints and are prone to injuries and joint degradation, especailly as they age and may have very poor cardiovascualr health and be prone to heart and vascular diseases. Just being light weight is not necessarilly healthy.

Likewise, if you have a lot of muscle mass you can have a BMI that is in the obese range, but have a very low body fat and be very healthy.

i weighed that a few weeks ago and im 5'6 and a half and turn 20 in January. its not a problem unless your wanting to bulk up. from a health point of view its better to be a bit on the thin side than on the heavy side.

Alright, thanks for the responses. As far as health goes, I get sick maybe once a year and i don't have any skin or any bodily problems.

But I would like to bulk up a bit. In fact when i weighed myself during the summer i was 115, lol, and now I've just about gained 10 pounds since working out from september.
