Hello all,
My BF loves asian food, we eat it everyday but I am looking to find healthier alternatives to the type of sweet n sour, sweet chili and thai coconut sauces that are sooo yummy but sooo bad for my diet!
The sauces he likes to cook are:
Chili and Garlic
Chili bean
Thai coconut curry
Sweet chili
Sweet n sour
Plum sauce
Ginger and garlic (this is not too bad i think)
Chinese barbeque
Black bean
Soya (the sweet/Ketchap and the saltier varieties)
Oyster sauce.
Which of these are ok? I really like flavoured asian food like these but wanna find healthier versions/alternatives.
We tend to eat chicken and seafood mainly, but sometimes pork. We stirfry it into the sauce with soya beans, carrots, runner beans, snap peas or peppers and then have some jasmine rice. Sometimes we also make our vegetables seperate to the rest of the meat with a different sauce.
Please please please help me! Its so tough because he always cooks for the two of us and as were students were on a tight budget...so its convenient to eat the same...I dont want to change our suppers for me but offer tasty asian alternatives!
Thanks everyone, I really appreciate it!
