Healthier Lifestyle

Today I am starting a diary. I found that this method worked well in another area of my life, and I will try it here. I'm a 31 year old guy who'd like to lose about 15-20 pounds and maintain a healthy lifestyle. During the week I do pretty well, but on weekends I lose motivation and give in to the junk food/alcohols temptation. This weekend I played a computer game while eating junk/drinking booze for more than 12 hours before I snapped myself out of the fog. Spending that type of time on mindless gaming/unhealthy eating and drinking jeopardizes my relationship, job, health, wellbeing, and everything I value.

I've made a lot of improvements to my life since the start of the year and I would like to continue on that path. I have fallen back in the past few weeks and want to stop that trend before it becomes a problem.

This morning I took a group class at my gym. It worked out pretty well, and I'll take all of the 6am classes at the gym this week to see how things go. I'll get some fruit when I go to work today, have salad (without junk-food dressing) for lunch, and sushi for dinner. Then, I'll go jogging and play the piano tonight. That is my plan for the day.

Thanks for the notes brawny and manzuni!

Yesterday went mostly as planned. Salad and a roll for lunch and sushi for dinner. I was craving a snack during the afternoon and bought a couple of small bags of pretzels (instead of other less good junk food). Didn't go running, but I have a 1.5 mile walk to and from work every day, so I get 3 miles of walking in every day regardless of what else I do.

This morning I'm heading to the 6 am class at the gym. Just eating some frozen veggies now so that I have a bit of energy for the class; I tend to feel light headed if I exercise without having eating something in the past 12 hours.

Same routine for today. Fruit for breakfast, salad and a roll for lunch, and sushi for dinner. I'll try to get a run in today if I can get out of work before dark.

Also, I ordered a scale, so I'll be able to quantity things a bit more in the future.

Cheers!
