having surgery - 50pounds weightloss needed

First things first, I am having surgery, and need to loose about 50 pounds of fat in 3 months.

I have been put on the register and waiting for a date sent through by the post, should get a letter within 3 months - and operation likely to follow shortly.

I currently weigh 260 pounds

More weight I lose the better success rates will be.

Why do I need surgery? Simple, my right leg is unstable (left not as bad) - no supporting ligaments and they are going to try a second to last option, of which is to make "new ligaments".

I have to loose 50 pounds min else the chances of success of the surgery will be slim.

What I need from you, is support, help in diets and encouragement.

I went and brought smaller plates 4cm smaller than normal plates to make me have smaller portion sizes.

I have also brought a kettlebell 7.5kg (16.5 pounds) to help burn fat.

Running/walking/standing for too long will make more complications for surgery.

If I don't loose enough weight I will be forced to go on a bad diet 400cal or less per day.

Its just 4 pounds per week.

Personally, I don't think doing kettlebells is a good idea with your leg.
You'll be standing mostly and proper form is required, plus stamina.
Getting proper form requires practice, and it's easy to injure yourself if you do it wrong.
I tried it but I've gone back to cardio because I just don't have the stamina for it yet.

Though I'm certainly no fan of low carb diets, but they are good for losing fat really really fast.
Due to it being high protein muscle loss will be minimal too.
Perhaps this is worth trying for you?

As exercise, maybe swimming would be a good idea?
It's often used as rehabilitation and physiotherapy so it should be ok with your leg, plus it burns calories really well.
Aquarobics would be even better.
