Hello all, I am a 26 year old male, with a bit of excess weight. I am currently a nursing student with one year left. By the time I graduate I have a goal of being my ideal weight...160lbs. About 4 years ago I lost around 50 lbs, I was like a machine, literally. I worked out at 5am, and 5pm 6-7 days a week. I did not enjoy working out, but I did not hate it either, it was just routine. Well my now wife and I went to Switzerland, and I found out what free time was again! :) So whwn we returned, my routine kind of fell off...way off. I gained all the weight back, plus some. I am a great cook, and I will post up pictures of the meals I cook, in hopes of remaining healthy. I have started Insanity multiple times, got to two weeks, and fell off, I need to just stick it it. My wife and I are also signed up for a warrior dash on Father's Day...EEK!

I recently made a contract with my dad and mom, who have both been smokers for over 40 years. They are always poking at my weight for health reasons, and I return with a comment about smoking. We recently came to an agreement, that if I lose 50 lbs, they both will stop smoking. A contract has been written up and signed. I currently weigh in at 240, so this will be quite the trip! Now time to lose weight!

Here are my befores:

You know...there was a guy in the past that started a thread with his pictures at the beginning of his weight loss journey and I remember looking at them at the time he posted them. I checked the forum back a year later and his loss was incredible! I am positive you will be a great success :) Looking forward to your updates. Nice tattoos btw :)

Good luck Dave, and what a great idea for an incentive!! Might try that myself with my folks! Best of luck on your journey

Pretty good deal you made with your parents.
All you have to do now is to lose the 50 lbs :)

Why did you stop with Insanity, any specific reasons? Too hard, experienced discomfort because of the excercises, or did you just quit?
I've tried a few workout programs myself and found that some I liked doing (among them is Insanity) and others... well not so much. Had a hard time to get myself to do the workouts for those I didn't like, and after a while I quit.
Maybe you should try another program if you keep quitting the same program.
