Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone has tried the Cereal/Special K Diet? I would like to try it, but I was wondering if anyone else has had luck with it.

Thanks!

the only reason why that "diet" works -is because it's very low calorie...

there's no magic properties in the cereal -special k or otherwise

if you're going to do a cereal diet -at least pick a cereal that doesn't contain crap like HFCS and actually has some fiber ro good for you stuff in it - not sugar sugar and more sugar.

spend some time reading the stickied threads and work with proper nutrition... something that will work with you for the rest of your life

they say eat it for breakfast for two weeks and feel a difference. I did it and certainly didn't feel any different. lol. im just eating 4 meals a day, healthy and exercise 6 days a week. see how that goes :)

cereal makes me hungrier

I don't know about you but cereal makes me incredibly hungry...then I sabotage my own diet and my own hardwork. From my experience, eating protein in the morning with limited carbs is the way to start the day. I am not saying don't eat carbs...just not at the very start.

I found a lot of useful hints at a site entitled "NoJokeDiet" and talked with my doctor. I know this won't work for everyone but I really think these hints did me wonders. It was free and the guy really seems to be down to Earth who writes it...its not wildly professional, it is just honest and has helped me lose weight!

Keep to the gym, eat healthy and continue to keep protein in your diet.

Message me with any thoughts and/or your progress

Best,

Cindy

It bugs me that most cereal on the store shelves are made from refined flour, hydrogenated oils and high fructose corn syrup as maleficent said. When you consume these man made "foods" your body doesn't get satisfied because their is little nutritional value in it. Then inevitably you get hungry and eat more like cindy experienced. Regular oatmeal is one of the best substitutes...

I've tried to start it about 3 different times - I failed on the first day every time because I was so hungry. Once I get hungry my willpower goes out the door. I can't say I'd recommend it.

Even though I like the taste of cold cereal, it just doesn't stick with me long enough to justify the calories. I do enjoy a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast though....the regular kind, not instant or quick cooking. I usually eat the "heart healthy" portion which is 1 1/2 servings. It keeps my tummy happy for about 3 hours though.
