Hard line on linking

So in the stickies in the announcement section there's a "hard line on linking" thread posted by Sean.

He states:

Put your website url in the signature. If people like your posts, they can copy the url the old fashioned way and type it in the URL bar.

So you can have a website in your sig but it can't be a hyperlink.

If that's the case, why was my sig removed?

If that's not the case, can someone point me to the updated policy?

I think Sean has quite recently said no links or urls in sigs what so ever.
