still more to lose, but i'm on my way! 8 days so far eating in moderation and also 8 days of no soda...very proud of myself!

Good job! Kicking the soda habit is hard but so worthwhile! I stopped drinking soda in January and I had a little sip of it in May - It didn't even taste good to me anymore! That made me sooooo happy! I feel so better for it too!
Keep it up!! :)

thank you everyone. well a year ago i was 240...i am now 220...and i'm 5'6 ...yes, kicking the soda habit was sooooo hard, i drank about 4 liters of diet soda a day...YES! 4 liters -_- and i felt disgusting and bloated. Day one of no soda was HORRIBLE...but now i am so happy that i just drink water all the time, i'm actually really liking water and it keeps me pretty full....

i'm REALLY trying hard to lose this weight...i am so wide from the front! i am doing standing up crunches and side crunches with 10 pound weights.

4 litres. WOW.

I can't even get through that much water. I'm glad you've kicked the habit.
Milk is delicious too :)

I know how you feel I was on about the same amount of soda as well. Went into hospital with gallbladder problems and decided when I came out i'd kick it. I still drink about 3L of Diluted Juice a day!

Doing well tho hun. I know i'm only meant to comment on the weight loss but the blonde is funkay!

Well done!

I would recommend squats for a great fat burning exercise, you can just use your body weight at first, then move onto holding the dumbbells as you do them. You can stand with both heels on books with your toes on the floor to aid your balance if you like. Keep your back straight and squat down slowly 3 seconds then stand back up 1 second, do as many as you can in one go then rest and repeat as many times as you can in 30 minutes, if you haven't done these before you will really feel it the next day, so make sure you don't have too much walking to do the next 2 days, but don't be put off, you will be surprised how fast your body will adapt and it wont be as sore when you do squats again.

Squats use large muscle groups which is what you want to do to burn calories, and they work the balance muscles as well, good luck!

Thanks for posting that Martyn. Although I'm shorter my body looks shaped like hers from the front so I will follow your advice :)

You'll be amazed by the amount of fat loss that occurs when you drop sugars and fatty foods (i.e. candy, soda, fast foods, hearty meats). The pounds nearly flake off! haha After that, though, comes the hard work of a balanced diet and exercise, but it can all be fun to figure out how your body works. When you work with it, it works with you. Keep it up! Can't wait to see some more progress pics.
