Happy Hour

Well today is my 21st birthday and I'm a little worried about what to do about happy hour now. It's not like I get to tell people I can't go because I'm too young anymore. I want to go out but I don't want to ruin what I'm doing here. Help!!

Happy Birthday and just don't drink if your serious about this lifestyle. Have a cheat meal if it's been a while but try to stay clear of alcohol as it's nothing but empty calories.

ya, I am going to stay away. Tommorow though I have planned to cheat and go out with friends. Tonight however I plan to stay within my Calorie budget. I bought a light beer with only 78 cals because I could but I have yet to try it or anything. I have class in about an hour. I wouldn't want to be drunk.

I hate to be the devil on your shoulder but one night of celebration isn't going to push you over the edge too terribly much. Just stay away from mixed drinks and enjoy some wine or a martini. And STAY AWAY FROM BEER BLOAT!

I'm sorry but diet or no diet, I cannot imagine letting my 21st birthday go by without celebration. In a country where you can die for your country before you can have a drink, it's a celebration that needs to be had. Just be safe and don't drink and drive.

Enjoy your birthday and then just be extra good the next few days. Happy Birthday, btw!

What she said !!!

Alright, so tonight I'm going out with friends. I'm going to do my best not to drink too much. I'm staying within my eatting limits and I plan to eat dinner right before I'm suppose to go. I'm doing so good, I don't want to screw it up.

Lot of good words of advice here.

Definitely eat well (and healthy) before you start drinking. It's not the same for everyone, but I find I tend to overeat most when I'm buzzed. You'll also reduce chances of getting really drunk as alcohol is really potent on an empty stomach.

Also, drink LOTS of water--especially after your night out. It'll prevent the dehydration that makes hangovers hell. Ibyprofen is good to take, but only after a few hours of drinking--never take it with drinks (it thins the blood which at the least will make you extra drunk--at the most it can be dangerous). Avoid Schnapps drinks right now (or anything that is a fruit cooler). The stuff is good, but it makes some people sick.

Most important of all - HAVE FUN!!! You only turn 21 once! Happy Birthday! :)
