Hello all!

I'm 21, my names Sarah and i'm in the UK! I recently put on a lot of weight and i'm quite uncomfortable with it, I also have to battle with some serious self esteem and self image problems, but i'm fighting my demons and trying to keep my chin up! I hope you can all help me! :D

Its a relief to find a lovely community of support online, especially with the extra tools, and hopefully i can be the size i want to be, and be healthy with your help!

I'm planning on trying the Slimfast diet, i've heard both bad and good things about it, but i want to give it a go! I feel it would suit my lifestyle.

I'm also trying to research forms of exercise, i have a back condition so i have to be quite careful, but no doubt i'll read some gems towards my situation here!

Thanks all!

Be careful of the sodium level in the slim fast supplements, I have a coworker who was hospitalized from that! He was doing two shakes and 2 bars a day, plus his own dinner. He did lose some weight, but at a severe detriment to his health.

Thank you for the note, i'd not heard of that before and will keep an eye on things.

I was under the impression you should only hae 2 meal replacement shakes/bars a day plus your own meal? Either way thats what i'm sticking to :D

That's probably the typical usage. But he was 6'3" and over 300 lbs, so I am thinking just two was probably leaving him hungry all the time, and he increased it.

That woould certainly make sense! Nether the less i will deffinately be keeping an eye on the sodium levels. :) thank you for pointing it out to me!

hi and welcome from a fellow uk`er.you will find lots of motivation and support on here im sure.
i tried the slim fast just to kick start my weight loss for about 2 weeks. i had 2 shakes, 1 meal and a couple of healthy snacks a day(i needed to eat a bit more i had a lot of weight to lose). i found however the fibre content didnt agree erm with my tummy after a while, plus i found i missed chewing, but i did lose some weight.
best of luck. slim

Hi Slim! Thanks for the reply.

I figure that its a good balanced way of getting me on the weight loss routine, when i'm a little more 'into it' i can explore other diets i expect!

Where in Wales are you if you dont mind me asking?
