Hi everyone!!
Ok, so this is day 1 of the holiday diet!
My aim is to lose about 2 stone (28 pounds) by October 2012 when i'm going on my first holiday abroad with my boyfriend. I'm feeling that i will need a kick in the right direction to stay on track which i'm sure i will get on here
I also need to plan myself some realistic goals along the way but am not sure what these could be and what is a healthy amount of weight to lose each week/month so maybe someone could help me with that
Basically i have 7 months to lose the weight.
So here is a bit about my current situation:
1. What is your current height and weight?
5'8" - 170 pounds (12 stone 1)
2. If you were at an ideal weight now, what would that weight be?
133 - 140 pounds (9.5 - 10 stone)
3. At what weight would you like to be at four months from now?
150 pounds (not sure if that's realistic but would be nice!!)
4. Why do you want to lose weight?
For my holiday in October but also for myself and to look and also feel better
5. Do you want to lose weight for a specific life event such as wedding or reunion? If so, when is that event?

6. What obstacles could get between you and your weight loss goals?
My love of food! especially tandoori food .. special mix korma, pilau rice and stuffed paratha.. YUMM!
7. Why do you think that you now have a weight problem?
'Happy weight' since beig with my boyfriend of 2 years, the weight has just piled on us both because we are just comfortable with each other (no excuse!)
8. What lifestyle changes do you think would help you lose weight?
Smaller portions, more exercise, less alcohol
9. Have you lost weight in the past? If so, what has worked in the past to help you lose weight?
Lots of motivation from my family and being made to weigh myself every week/couple of weeks to check up on my progress. In general, less food and more moving!
10. Why do you believe that you did not lose weight or you gained the weight back?
Lost enough weight to be comfortable, went on an extravagant holiday and ate my way back up to the weight i was!
11. What, if anything, has not worked for you in the past in helping you to lose weight? Why do you think it did not work?
Nothing has 'not worked' before i don't think, i just haven't kept up with the diet/exercise before
12. Would you try writing down all food and drink consumed for a given period of time?
Yes, i am going to try and do it on this thread everyday.
13. Do you cook at home often? If so, what do you cook?
I don't cook that often, mainly because my boyfriend is far better at cooking (maybe the reason for the weight gain haha) we also have a take out a couple of times a week which HAS TO STOP!!
14. How often do you go out to eat? Where do you go?
Quite a lot at the moment .. Frankie and Benny's (15" pizza is usually a favourite :S) Pizza places in general .. also Indian food is usually high on the list when we eat out.
15. What are your three favorite foods?
Special mix korma, stuffed paratha, thai curries
16. What are your three favorite restaurants?
Simple thai, Frankie and Bennie's, Pizza Hut
17. What are three things you can do differently when it comes to food?
Smaller portions, less processed food, less fatty foods
18. If you woke up tomorrow and your body was exactly the way you want it, what would be different?
Look good in clothes (an swim wear) smaller waist, thinner face, thinner arms.. just thinner in general! Haha.
19. Do you eat when you are not hungry?
YES!
20. Do you binge eat (large amounts at a time)?
Yep, and sometimes i just eat out of bordom
21. Do you hide your food or eat in secret?
No
22. Do you eat when you are sad, nervous, or depressed?
Not when i am any of those. They make me eat less.
23. Do you eat as a reward?
I literally eat all the time haha.
24. Do you eat while watching TV or using the computer?
Yes, we always have 'treats' for watching tele with
25. What do you normally eat for a meal?
Meant veg and potato is the usual
26. What type of snacks do you eat?
Chocolate (a lot of it), crisps, cakes
27. In terms of exercise, what, if anything, are you currently doing?
Not a great deal. First day of the diet today so i have been on the cross trainer and walked to the shops instead of driving so hoping to keep both of these things up and hopeful extend my workout.
28. Where do you go for exercise? A local public gym? School/work gym? Home?
Home
29. What, if anything, are your three favorite types of exercise?
Swimming, Rowing, Classes (spinning zumba e.t.c)
30. What is your daily/weekly/monthly/yearly motivation to move towards your goals?
Daily - Every bit of exercise and every minute of feeling hungry is one step closer!
Weekly - The result on the scales
Monthly - Buying smaller clothes that will fit me before my holiday
Yearly - Achieving my first goal of a loss of 2 stone before October.
31. Do you have rewards for certain goals?
I am yet to set goals, but they will probably be monthly weight loss goals and when the goal is reached i will probably allow myself a takeaway!
