Hangover Square's Weight Loss Diary

Hi all,

Today was the beginning of my weight loss journey. For a year or so, I've done no strenuous work out. I've been letting my body deteriorate for way too long. Over the past year, I developed an issue with my knee, which I suspect has to do with my weight and my shoes.

Currently, I am 6'1'' and 220 pounds. Possible more. Tomorrow I will weigh myself for a more accurate reading.

My break-in work out consisted of a half-hour of jogging and running. I would go two to three minutes with an easy jog, and then up to a minute or two of intense running. I'd alternate every so often.

After this, I took a 10 minute break to collect myself, and then moved on to the strength machine. I focused on my pecs, for starters, doing a chest press--I did this 50 times. I then continued to do roughly 20 more.

When I was done taking another 5 minute break, my arms felt like gelatin. I pushed on, however. This time, I focused on my abs, and did around 30 crunches.

Finally, to finish off my entire work out, I did an easy jog for 29 minutes, and an intense run for the last minute. The incline was at 3.0, speed at 3.1. The running was at 7.0.

I feel really good about myself. I want to, ultimately, lose 35 pounds. I'd also like to fit into jeans with a smaller waste. As I continue doing this, I hope to raise my self-esteem and confidence level, too, alongside just feeling good and healthy.

Wish me luck!
