Hamstring Problem from Lunges?

Hey all, today when I was doing squats, my leg felt a bit funny so I decided to finish up with something lighter doing lunges.
I was doing fine with lunges and when I finished I sat down with my friend that I'm lifting with, and after a bit I stood back up and my hamstring/glute on the left side ABSOLUTELY KILLED ME. Felt like a knife was stabbing it or something, any idea what's up?

Dave: Could be a pulled/torn hamstring. Is there bruising, swelling, spasm? Are you having a hard time contracting the muscle?

If you are encountering any of these ice pack can be applied to control swelling. If it's really painful and has yet lessen. Get to an Dr.

If it was torn you'd probably already know by the loud snapping sound; trust me, I've been there!

Is it still hurting? It sounds a lot like a pulled muscle to me, apply ice and see how it feels in an hour or so. If it's still really painful to move then get a doctors appointment to check for a tear.

If it's either of those the best advice anyone could ever give you is don't come back too soon from a hamstring injury! It may feel fine but you'll probably need at least 3 weeks out after even a minor hamstring pull

Hmm, it's kind of tight and sore today, it feels much better though. I don't think I need 3 weeks off from this, maybe the rest of the week and I can just do curls and bench for the rest of the week hehehehe.

Thanks for the advice guys. I dind't apply ice earlier, should I do it today? or will it not matter? it pretty much feels back to normal today, but I wouldn't try to run or do SLDLs or anything like that.
