Hi everyone. I'm wondering if this little routine will help me lose some weight. First of all, I am 21, I am 6'3" tall, I don't know how much I weight but it sure is above 200 pounds (I haven't checked for a few months, but last time I was 192 and since that time I haven't done any physical exercice at all and saw my belly grow). I spend a lot of time in front of my computer either for job or playing games, internet etc. For a bunch of months, I haven't been doing any physical exercice at all (always in front of my computer, always using car to go somewhere) and eating a bit more than I should. Like I take more than one snack after supper cause I'm pretty much always hungry. Since my growth has ended, I obviously gained some weight and started having a belly and some fat in the neck due to my inactivity. I don't consider myself big, I used to be slim for my height, but if I was to see someone I haven't seen in a while, I'm pretty sure he would say "you have taken weight". So now I want to lose weight and stop being inactive. I live alone in my apartment and work at home, that explain how I can maintain the routine I will show you.
I planned some kind of routine :
-I wake up at 9h30, for breakfast I take 1 toast/waffle instead of 2, with peanut butter/fruit jam and banana pieces on it.
-At 12h00, I go outside and fast walk/run for 20 to 30 minutes.
-At 12h30, I have my dinner, something basic like a sandwich, small portion of healthy pizza, grilled-cheese, stuff like that.
-At 17h00, another fast walk/run for 20 to 30 minutes.
-At 17h30, I have my supper, which will be half of what I take usually. For exemple, steak+sidekicks : I usually take 2 slices of steak and the whole bunch of sidekicks. Now I would take 1 slice of steak, and keep half of the sidekicks as a rest for another meal.
-Between 21h00 and 22h00, I would have some kind of snack, equivalent of breakfast (until now, I could be eating a whole big bag of chips, 4 to 6 waffles or go out and take some McDo, between supper time and sleep time).
That's it, doing that everyday. Since I'm working home and alone, it's not complicated for me to keep that pace.
I'm also planning on removing every unhealthy food such as pizza, chips, and reducing restaurant to 1 time per week max. I will be drinking 3 liters of water per day, I think it's the amount I need and until now I think I was getting less than recommended. I'm allergic to many fruits, mainly those with citric acid, so it's hard to include them in my routine. Also, I don't get a lot of vegetables... should I? Will it helps for the lost of weight or it's "only" for the vitamins? Does dairy products really help losing fat? Does the number of hours I sleep also is a factor? My sleeping schedule is usually irregular, but I plan on getting 8 hours of sleep everyday by going to bed at between 1h00 and 1h30, and wake up at 9h30 from now on.
Tell me what you think about this, what should I change or add or any tips. My healthy weight is between 150 and 200 pounds, I'd like to reach 190. I'm also wondering how fast will I see a difference, and will the fact that I was slim before have any difference?
Thanks =)
PS: I'm also searching for a tip on how I could staighten by spine, since I spend inevitably a lot of time in front of my computer, I now have a fairly hunched back, unless I stand straight on purpose. Any exercice without equipment at home to help?
