hello all )

Let's see,
My name's Teresa and I'm finishing my freshman year of college. Which, of course, means that I've gained the freshman 10-15...probably because of poor nutrition and a tid bit of alcohol. Doh!

In November, When I decided to start to try to lose the 8 or so pounds I'd gained in the past 2 months, I cut calories to 900-1100 a day. This was a huge mistake and I ended up gaining 5 or so more pounds, either because my body went into starvation mode or because i deprived myself so much that I binged on the weekends. I'm not really sure what happened.

Anywho, I've been lurking for a week or two gathering information from this board so hopefully I've found something that will do the trick. 5-6 meals a day and 1300-1400 calories. I'm a pretty active person so hopefully this will be enough.

Now that I've told you my life story...I'd love to hear yours. Or even just a hello would suffice.

Welcome teresa!

I am glad you are here with us doing it the right way. you say you are a pretty active person, (so assuming you don't have to do cardio) are you lifting any weights?

Thanks for replying :)

Right now I'm not lifting any weights, I don't really know how or what would be appropriate. I tend to build muscle quite quickly for a woman.

As far as exercise goes a typical week would be walking 10-15 miles (not including my daily walks from class to class), running 5-10, a few nights of racquetball and a few nights of soccer. Sometimes several hours on the elliptical.
