Hi!
I'm a 42 year old sahm. I used to be very physically active in my younger days. Somewhere in my late 20s I injured my lower back and stopped exercising due to the pain. On normal days 5 O'clock was my limit on walking. Add in 2 little boys and working out just didn't seem like a possibility. I gained about 30 pounds....blah
A couple of years a go, I went almost vegetarian (fish very rarely) and lost the 30 pounds. YAY
Last year, I decided to take my boys to Tae Kwon Do classes. For the first 2 weeks, I stayed and watched but it looked like so much fun and brought back tons of memories from when I used to take it in high school. I signed up and went very slowly worrying that my back wouldn't allow such a thing. One year later, I'm on my third belt and my back is rarely gives me trouble.
A couple months ago, I decided to kick it up a notch and try to add in some running. I'm still working on this and still walk just as much as run, but I'm getting better all the time.
I've gone from 168 pounds at the beginning of my journey and am down to 140. My goal is 130, I'm 5'8". I take my weight loss slowly and try to doing everything though lifestyle changes that I can live with. I came to this site looking for some workout tips and maybe some nutrition advice here and there. I love to study up on nutrition.
So, there's my very long winded story. I look forward to "meeting" you.
