Hi everyone. How are we all? I'm Male, Shannon, from Australia and currently 18. I've decided, I want to lose weight. And I'm serious about it this time. So therefore I'm here to get motivation, as it's sometimes hard trying it on your own.

I'm about 5'9" (177cm) and 92kg (202lb). So I've cut down on any bad foods that I'm indeed aware that are bad for you (Schnitzel burger, parmigiana, McDonald's, chips, sausages etc etc)

I've been doing push ups and sit ups and going for a jog. But that is it (thus far)

I've tried this before, and I'm not sure if it's enough. I'm not fully aware of how to manage the calories, and what is a good limit etc.

I attend University, and I am often lazy and procrastinate in doing my study, and the more I think about it, I think it all relate back to the weight.

When I'm at my University residence, cooking healthy sometimes doesn't happen, and I'll cheap on take away etc.

Can anyone help me and give me advice for good exercises, eating methods and the calorie system?

Cheers.

Hi Shannon, Welcome.

The advice you are asking about is all on this site somewhere. Look at and read through the stickys (permanent thread topics at the top of each forum category).

The predominance of (good) advice here is to lose weight with a sensible combination of healthy eating and exercise. But look around and if you get stuck in the stickies ask questions and we'll answer!

If you start a diary in the Diary section you can log in your eating, exercise and general thoughts. People will post feedback and it's a great way to involve yourself. Engaging in this daily will help keep you focused.

Best of luck!

David C
