Popping in to say hi! This looks like a great forum with a lot of knowledgable folks so I am looking forward to being an active member here!

My job forces me to sit on my but all day but I do have the advantage of being able to work from home. About 8 months ago I was in a physical state that was rather poor. I didn't exercise much and my diet was horrible. I also had a problem abusing alcohol. My Dr. told me my blood sugar levels were too high. He said I needed to lose 20 pounds in the next four months or he would have to start me on diabetic meds.

This was a good alarm for me. I quit alcohol completely, cut out sugar soft drinks and a good portion of the startch from my diet. I also started taking 2 mile walks aprox 4 times per week. By just doing this, I was able to drop off 24 pounds in those 4 months to my next visit. I was pretty happy about the weight loss and diet change...my blood sugar levels dropped back into the normal range.

Just thought I would share that with you. My goal is to lose another 10 pounds and to not yo-yo back up! Yo-yoing has been a problem with me in the past....So I'm always looking for friendly motivation.
