Hi everyone. Let me tell you a little about myself. On February 1st, 2011, I decided I was going to shed my fat and lead a more healthy lifestyle - a kind of late new years resolution. I weighed 276 lbs (19yr old male, 6ft). Over the course of these 5 months I have gotten down to 224 lbs, a total weight loss of 52 lbs. My goal weight is to hit 200 lbs, but more honestly, to get rid of my man boobs that have plagued me all through high school. I haven't really changed what I eat, only the quantity and time in which I eat. My main vice is midnight snacking and through a little self discipline (Lasagna at midnight is delicious but not worth it) I have curbed that self destructive behavior.

I try to jog every day for 30 mins but due to circumstances beyond my control I usually only end up jogging 5-6 days a week. I stay away from soda and sugary drinks and drink a lot of water, usually 25 glasses a day. As an avid fan of the show, "Biggest Loser" I thought that losing weight was going to be extremely difficult but all in all it hasn't been. I still have the temptation to eat at night but as a rationalist I can usually talk myself out of it. Thanks for reading, thought it might be cathartic to share my journey to other people.

Hello

Hi there...

Im new here too .. and this forum brings great motivation for me... I weight 154 lbs and Im aiming at 120 by Oct 1st this year... Ive joined the gym last week coz I dont think theres anyway I could be motivated through home exercises or jogging....

I suggest you to first set your goal weight ... make a new diet plan ... Decide on the calorie deficit that you want to create per day .... HIT THE GYM ... and have your trainer give you new programmes when you're bored... Work out .....

Its amazing how light I feel the day after I have worked out... I wish you great success in your journey towards being fit...

All the best!!

Congrats on losing over 50lbs! You could motivate others here who are just starting off and are discouraged. That's great that you decide on something that's best for you and stick to it. Keep doing that and you'll definitely get to your goal.
