Grab and Go Healthy Breakfast: Zip Lock Omelet
Do you ever feel like you don’t have enough time in the morning to make a good food choice? Do you continually make bad choices? Did you have that muffin with a Grande latte, extra cream and a splash of flavored syrup? Well today I would like to share with you a quick grab and grow breakfast loaded with protein. This food choice will keep you on track to achieve a great balance of womens fitness and diet.
This works great! An easy and mess free way to cook your omelets.
Take a quart-size Ziplock freezer bag and then:
Crack 2 eggs (large or extra-large) into the bag (not more than 2) shake to combine them.
Put your ingredients such as: low fat cheeses, ham, onion, green pepper, tomato, etc. in and mix up well.
Make sure to get the air out of the bag and zip it up.
Place the bag into rolling, boiling water for exactly 13 minutes. You can usually cook 6-8 omelets in a large pot. For more, make another pot of boiling water.
Open the bags and the omelet will roll out easily. Be prepared to be amazed! Prepare them ahead of time and store them in the fridge so that you can grab one out and boil it, for a healthy and quick meal.

Sounds interesting I'm going to try it out. I'm always on the go thats why I never eat breakfast, but I need to start, so I'll test this out :D

I might make some one afternoon that I am off until 5 that way I can just warm it up and go when I get up in the morning.

Are even freezer bags okay to put in boiling water for 13 min?
I know there are nylon vacuum bags that are intended to be boiled, but I might worry about regular plastic bags. Aren't freezer bags just thicker? Or do they have a different composition? Some plastic can be nasty. In fact some folks won't use it in contact with food at all due to estrogenic, potentially carcinogenic compounds that can leach from them. I would think that extreme heat could make this worse.

I know it's tempting to throw caution to the wind and think "something's going to kill me eventually anyway", but after becoming more health conscious this sort of thing gives me more pause. Any thoughts?

Yeah I use store brand freezer quart sige bags!
Works great just make sure the whole bag is in the
water, the 1st time I made them I accidently let
the top part of the baggy hang on the side of pan barely
and it melted but the boiling water doesn't make it
melt and freezer bags are the best! Tammy
