Goodbye poodge, hello sexy!

So this isn't my first time on here, though technically I am a newb. I had previously been on here as "LaLaLucky," but I needed a change. I continuously yo-yo'ed, never actually accomplishing anything. So now that I'm actually doing something, I want to start completely fresh, new name and all, and stay on track. LaLaLucky is a loser. Jennifer is a winner!

So here goes!

I've gone from pudgy to slender and back throughout my life, never being skinny, never being obese, just being. I've thought of myself as fat ever since around 4th grade, not really sparked by anything as far as I know, I just looked down one day and said to myself, "Self, you're fat!" And that was it. From then on I was fat, even when I wasn't.

In my Junior year of high school I was put in "Advanced P.E." which was basically just a weight-lifting class with other typical gym stuff thrown in on the off days. At the end of the year I looked the best I'd ever looked, felt the best I'd ever felt, and weighed in at 135 lbs, the lowest I'd been since I'd reached big-girl height. (Which, in my case, is 5'9".)

It was all down-hill from there. I steadily regained what I lost the next year, and then some. By the time I graduated I was probably around 150 lbs. I know people are going to look at that and say, "I would KILL to be 150 lbs!" I know, at this point I would too. But back then it was another pound on the scale. It added to the fat self-image.

For about eight months I moved up to Dayton and pretty much starved the weight off, not because I chose to starve, but because at that period in my life I couldn't afford a lot, and it was either rent or food usually. I didn't completely starve, but I wasn't eating as much as I was used to either.

After I moved back to Cincinnati in early spring, '05, I gradually packed the weight on until I was at my heaviest at 180 lbs. At that point I started to try different things to lose the weight. My SlimFast/Lean Cuisine diet worked until I quit the job I had at the time and went to a lower paying job (stupid move, stupid time in my life). I tried working out. That lasted a few days. On and Off.

Now I'm doing a low-carb, high-protein diet with my boyfriend, and the fact that we're doing it together helps a lot. Since we've started the diet I've lost about 15-ish pounds, I'm now 161-ish, and he's reached his first goal of getting below 200 pounds!

My goal is to get back down to 135 lbs eventually, but for now my main goal is just to get to 145 lbs. I want to get rid of the poodge on my stomache! I want a flat, sexy tummy (which I've never had)! I want to be confident, and I want to finally get rid of the fat-girl-syndrome!

I have before pictures in my photo album in my profile, as well as more recent ones with my newer weight.

Which reminds me: It's always amazed me how people don't believe me when I tell them how much I weigh. Earlier this year we were doing a Biggest Loser challenge at my job (I work at Target!) and when I weighed in, the secretary saw how much I weighed and asked me, "Where do you put it all?!" Lol, I have an hourglass figure, and I'm tall, so I have a lot of room to hide it. I told her, "I can't tell you that, there are men in the room," but the truth is, t&a. I'm blessed with a decent rack and nice tush, and I accept that. I count on them to be there when I get rid of the rest of the unnecessary fat. The poodgie on my tummy, my arm jiggle, the thunder-thighs lol.

So here are some stats:

As of 7/13/08:
Ht: 5'9"
Wt: 168.4
Chest: 40", 34"
Waist: 32"
Hips: 42"
Tummy: 39"

Current weight is 161.6 lbs, I may do measurements later on in the week.

Hey Jennifer! Welcome back. My advice would be to create a healthy diet that you can stick to forever. Too many people consider diet to be, "what I do for a few months to lose the weight". If you create a healthy diet that you can keep forever, you'll never have to worry about it.

Heya Jennifer! Seems like you and me have the same kind shape, you're just taller than I am and weigh less. People hardly ever believe I'm as heavy as I am either, but that's what happens when you have JLo booty and a nice rack of lamb up top. :D I swear I carry about twenty pounds for each of my girls.

But yay for hourglass figures. I was just reading some article earlier today about how the hourglass figure is as close to humanity gets for the universal standard of beauty.

Good luck with your goals!

Thanks all!

I can't believe I went and made this new account, then life got crazy and of course what do I do? Skip out on the WLF. Tch..

So ANYWAYS! I'm very happy to say I'm 151 as of the last time I weighed myself, so I'm a very happy lady.

The first two pictures are from back when I began, the last two are very recent pictures, the one in red from two days ago. I need to take some more like the first two...

Hey,
we seem to be at very similar points of our journey, about 2/3 done and feeling great!
Well done!
Have a great week, Camy
