Howdy all! I am 6' 3" and weigh about 220LBS. I was at 195 nlast year and VERY please with my weight. To get there i was originally 245LBS and had gotten mono at 21years old. From their i was hospitalized with the flu at the same time and it was kind of a jump start for me to start biking 3 miles a day and eat twice a day healthy.

After meeting my current g/f of a year now I have slacked off on excercise and eating right is very hard now with her enjoy food as much as me...yet she never gains weight.

I need some kind of motivation...or some sort of plan to get back to where I was in a slim, yet tone shape. :banghead:

Would a gym be beneficial for me and start joggin on the tread or using the stationary bike? Please help!

Matt

Matt - I think that often the most beneficial exercise is the one you enjoy most because that is what you'll stick with. Gyms are great, but only if you are committed to showing up there. It sounds like you enjoyed cycling. Why not start that up again? Or perhaps you and the g/f could talk a walk/run together after some of that good food.

I like thinking that I am not "losing weight" but "gaining ___ " back (such as "gaining a nice figure, gaining good health" ;) Diet towards life, not away from it ! That's what I like to think in order to motivate myself. I agree with SoCalBex, the best exercise is one you enjoy doing! Good luck with things
