As some of you may know I struggle a lot with feelings of failure and a much too strict view of success when it comes to my weightloss. I have recently decided to ditch the scale for a few weeks, and am focusing instead on learning to like how my body looks, feels, what it can do, and on making improvements in skills and strength, not in numbers. Well, last night my gymnastics coach told my class that we are going to be competing in an adult competition on July 18. I'm so excited! I've wanted to get back into competing for a while. And now I can totally focus on improving my gymnastics skills, and reaching the goals I've sett for myself by that date, instead of focusing on weight loss. I'm also hoping that knowing that what I eat and do on non-gymnastics days is really important for my performance, will motivate me to do things right. This is so much more of a fun and exciting goal to focus on than losing those last 5 pounds.
