Good form, or heavy weight

I know in order to continually build muscle you need to progressively add more weight to the exercises you perform. Yet when I move up in weight, at times my form suffers slightly in order to move the weight.

Also though, sometimes when my form is as good as it can be, it often limits the amount of weight I can use.

Is it okay to allow a LITTLE bit of loose form in order to move more weight or should you only perform exercises with perfect form and move up in weight more slowly?

Also, should i perform my bench press like this?

Or, does it really not matter? Or, should it just be a smooth motion the whole time?

Get your form correct and keep it correct always. If increased weight is making your form suffer, you are probably not ready for it.

Eg last night I was working my tricepts. The weight was to heavy i think as it hurt my elbows but as I took 2 plates of the dumbell it worked great ;) I find tricepts only need a very light weight to feel the burn along with a few other muscles.

Although, you can sacrifice form a little (providing your still unlikely to injure yourself) in order to get a heavier weight up.

E.g. arching the back a little more during OH Pressing, using the shoulders to curl, etc.

But i suppose it depends on your training style, strongmen probably are the most likely to not stick to the strict form that most people think of.

I think cheating to use a heavier weight is okay, but you don't want to sacrifice form to the extent that you're going to hurt yourself.

Cheat curls and push presses are good for this.

Also, have you tried lowering the rep range?

i agree with this the most. IF ur doing something like cleans or snatches and u try to move a heavy weight with bad form u will get injured 99% of the time. But on the other hand on simple lifts wich require little to no range of motion i feel it ok to cheat(not flat out cheat) to move heavy weight.
