:seeya: Hello, everyone. My name is Kate and I just registered on the forum. I recently joined a gym and I'm trying to work out 3-5 times a week. I'm eager to improve my health by changing my exercising and eating habits. I joined this forum to educate and motivate myself. My weight goal is to lose 20 lbs over the next 2-3 months.

I look forward to meeting all of you.

yep....I just started going. I've actually had a membership at one for 7 years courtesy of my employer but never took advantage of it. I've now been 3 days in a row...not a lot but its a start.

My husband is going with me, its SO much fun working out with him....He's my "jillian" (if you watch the biggest loser) and he's fantastic at it!!!

We were being dorky this morning...we were the only ones in the tread room and for just a little while we were being goofy and holding hands while we did our side by side walking hehehehe....

My plan is to hit it 7 days a week, 3 days on weights and cardio and 4 days just on cardio

lol It sounds like you're both able to make it fun. That's great!

I am in a similar situation. My boyfriend and I have a membership together, which we are trying to use on a regular basis now. We've had our membership since October, but I honestly have only used it a couple times since then. I think it's going to help us both by having our partners to help motivate us and visa versa.

I am intimidated by weight lifting and I haven't touched weights since my senior year in high school. Last night when we went, I had my boyfriend re-introduce me to the machines. I'm hoping to gain muscle too! They're neat to workout on! I love cardio, but it's going to take me a while to build my endurance again. It's hard to believe I used to be a cross country runner. lol

How long do you work out each day?

Oh I know all about the endurance thing lol Dave and I went to Savannah for our "christmas present" (we dont buy presents for each other, we take a trip somewhere for new years)..We got down there on the 29th and walked all over the city for 3 days....I was SO sore.

To make a long story short, I had breast reduction a little over a year ago and swore to myself that now that I could exercise without pain I would do so....well 2007 saw me break two ribs, get pneumonia, and break my ankle (all at dif times of the year) and I managed to put on 20 pounds (not that I wasnt over weight anyway)...anyway...

I decided not to let the soreness of Savannah go to waste..My mother in law gave me a treadmill for christmas so I just kept on trucking on that....jan 1 I could only do 4 minutes, now Im up to 12 (at an average of 3 mph) I knew a PT came with my membership so I called her and Dave and I met with her last thursday to set up a work out for us and she did so I've been for the last 3 days. Im really proud....I have walked every single day since Dec 29 :) Before the gym I was only doing whatever I had worked up to on the tread....at the gym my workout is an hour and combines weights and cardio

I worked out without him yesterday and I do have to admit having him there with me makes it tons more "fun"

(sorry for writing a book...I tend to get chatty sometimes :) )
