Glad to be here, love forums, love the support and encouragement one can get from them, and inspiration as well...

I am well on my way in my transformation, I was, at my heaviest, a unhealthy, 2 pack a day smoker at about 330 lbs.... give or take...

It wasn't pretty, witness the horror below....

That was a bad scene about a year and a half ago I guess...

I made the decision to change my life slowly... and change it I did...

The smokes are gone, I am running, just did my first 5k and and am running a 10 mile road race this summer...

Oh, and I lost over 120lbs so far as well...

Here I am crossing the finish line of my 5k

I still have some work to do, and the hardest, the very hardest thing, is staying focused after having the success I have had... it's soooooo easy to slip, to justify things and take it a little easier than you should....

Just a couple of more before and after for you...

My stunning wife and I, about 3 years time lapsed here....

And about 2 years in this one....

I look forward to meeting you all!

If you like, you can certainly check out my blog as well, it's where I cry and ramble about how tough it is for a former fatty to train for a 10 mile road race lol...

Thanks for reading!

Damn, you've done really, really well losing all that weight. Those before and after pictures are great, especially the one that shows you and your wife. You two make a cute couple, if you don't mind me saying so.

I especially wanted to emphasize this quote from your post:

I can relate to that so much. I too have lost over a hundred pounds, and the last few pounds are a real pain in the butt to get rid off.

So all the best to you!

Well done on your loss!

Yup, seems like I have been hovering around the same 4-5 lbs for a couple of months now. I'm ok with that, my body continues to change despite the weight not moving as fast. I think one of the hardest things to have to do is adjust your measure of progress and success as you evolve. At the beginning it was amazing and encouraging to see 5+lb drops in a week, now, I deal in ranges.... if I am 2-3 lbs up or down of a point I am content with at this time, then that's a success, and if I see the scale start to creep above the 2-3lb range, I adjust.

Thanks for the comments on the pictures, we are a cute couple, well, half of us are... you could put a haystack next to that wife of mine and it will look like a cute couple ;)

Wow cbabs, incredible fat loss and smoking gone too! just a congratulation is not enough! you've come so far, keep it going, don't ever stop now. When you do get tempted by too much food or get discouraged, think back to how bad everything felt when you had all that weight not to mention the health risk. Stay with the running to, that'll burn calories to the max. I'm looking forward to reading your blog.

Welcome to the forum.

I had to remove your link as it breaks our rules. Check out the forum rules on

I am sure that many people here would love it if you kept on posting in a diary here and telling of your hard work and successes.

Congratulations on your success... You have done brilliantly - losing so much weight, improving your fitness level to run like that and also give up smoking.

I do hope that you decide to hang around here.

The following link may help you to settle in.
