Greetings, fellow travelers,

Just had the genius idea to see if there was a weight loss forum, and what do you suppose?

I weighed in at 262.2 lbs this morning. I'm spurred to do something after stepping off a deck onto the lawn at a party last night (an 18-inch drop) and having my knee nearly buckle underneath me. Clearly, when your body mass exceeds the structural capacity of your skeleton, it's time to act.

So I'm looking to build community, and get a little moral support. The charts say I should weigh 185, but I'm a pretty sturdy guy, so I think I'd be fine at 200.

The bad news is I have a knee injury that limits my activities (like stepping off a deck). The good news is that the sports medicine specialist says exercise, exercise, exercise is the way to deal with it. And I love to ride my bike. In fact, I'm going out to get out for a ride in about 45 minutes.

Anyway, that's me. If anybody wants to friend me, I'll try to keep this fun and entertaining. If anybody else is into cycling as a key component of their routine, I'd definitely be interested in talking about that.
 
Hello from another newbie. I found this site quite by accident the other day, and so glad that I did. I belonged to another weight loss forum long ago, and it was most helpful. I am hoping that this time around will be the last time around.
