While these all have their differences, they all do have one thing in common..... they soak up huge amounts of water (congeal) in your stomach.... or in your glass, if you don't drink them fast enough
giving you the sensation of fullness, which for me, would be absolutely awesome !
Because I'm always ravenous, whether I'm eating 3700 cals a day (like right now) during a cut cycle..... or 4500 cals a day, during a bulk (a clean, slow bulk, that is. On my last bulk, I ate 5000+ cals for several weeks, and I was putting on weight just a little bit fast.... about 1 1/2 lbs a week. Which means I was gaining a little higher fat to muscle ratio, than would be optimum)
But the point is, even at 5K+ cals a day, I was always freaking starving !
So anyway, glucomannan > Tons of fiber, almost zero cals, very filling.
Chia seed > Moderate cals (for the small amount you would eat), very healthy omega 3 fats (zero saturated) and believe it or not, very high in protein as well ! Very filling.
Pysillium > Very low cals in the flavored, sugar free stuff, like Metamucil(probably zero if it were straight psyillium fiber) Very filling.
I was already taking Psyillium every day anyway, to make sure things kept moving.... which had sometimes been an issue before, as my stomach is now like a living super-duper food processor, and it tends to over digest + hang onto food too long (when eating a skimpy 3700 to 4500 cals a day, like I have too).
It wasn't until I read an article talking about these items which make you feel fuller, that I stopped and thought, "Hey, yea.... that Metamucil does make me feel a little fuller.... Much more so than a glass of water of the same size, anyway. Hmmm.
So, now I'm fixing to try some glucomannan, and some chia seed too..... Not all at the same time, nor masses doses or anything crazy
Definitely want to wait to see how things come out first
LOL
Anybody here try any / all of these things to reduce hunger / promote fullness ???
Thanks,
Fish
