Hi :)
I'm new to this forum, and it's awesome! It's nice to find a place where you can share similar goals with everyone. Everyone is so supportive and thats the community I would really like to be a part of.

Well, I'm 21 years old and I weigh 160 pounds. I'm hoping to lose 30 pounds by the end of the summer. I come from an Asian family, so it's really difficult to cut white rice out of my diet. I also really really love salty snacks like chips and fries. Potatoes are my favorite :p

My weight really depresses me, all of my friends are tiny and constantly getting compliments on their looks. You would think that this would push me to lose my weight, but it doesn't. I never really had a problem with my size, I never thought I was fat or big. But family members and family friends always commented on my weight, constantly telling me not to eat so much because other people had to eat. I have a really loving boyfriend that loves me for the size that I am. But I'm not doing this for anyone else but myself. I want to lose weight because I believe it will make me a happier person. I'll be able to buy the clothes I want to buy without feeling self consious. I'll be able to take pictures without positioning myself to make myself look thinner.

I plan to cut sugary drinks out of my diet and drink water, I also plan to cut the salty deepfried snacks out of my diet :( which makes me a bit sad.. haha but I think I can deal with it. I just need to find a good and healthy alternative. I'm hoping that eating alot of smaller portioned foods will help, because I'm used to eating larger portions. Because I have a really busy school schedule, I'll only be able to work out 3 times a week. I hope this will allow me to lose some weight :) I think that if I find a plan that will compliment my lifestyle I will be able to reach my goal, all I need to do now is to find it :) hehe

Hopefully being able to put all of my efforts into a journal will help me in my goal.

Welcome to the WLF and to your new diary :)

I found for me, I couldn't just cut the foods I love out of my diet - I had to find a way to live with them AND lose weight.

The only way I could do that is by counting calories. Have you checked out or ? Both are sites for tracking calories, nutrition and fitness.

Best of luck to you as you reach your goal, you CAN do this!
