Getting upper body more in shape, help please!

Now I've always had this, well 'problem', just having excess fat around my abdomen and such, but wanting to get rid of it before heading on a holiday in October (Beaches etc...).

My diet is ok, I don't starve myself, or overeat, prob eat roughly 1.5-2.5kcal a day, but I do eat the wrong foods alot of the time.

My fitness is good, I go to the gym everyday, mainly cardio at the moment 45mins a day or so, fairly hard out. (Only really just starting doing this much though)

But anyway, just looking for a little advice on how to get rid of the love handles and flatten the tummy a bit.

Alright well rest assured that a lot of people have this problem. Its not even a "problem" really.

Diet - There's a big difference between 1.5kcal and 2.5kcal. You need to get on a consistent diet and don't shock your body by having such a large caloric intake range. 1,000 calories is huge.

Exercise - running for 45 minutes "hard out" won't necessarily get rid of that fat if you're getting rid of what muscle you have. The simple fact is that getting rid of "love hands" and "tummy fat" requires that you get rid of fat everywhere. Everyone by now on the internet should know that you can't spot reduce (unless you get liposuction).

In essence, diet is your biggest problem I believe. Keep it healthy and keep it consistent and you should see some results. Exercise, of course too.

Good morning, It seams that you are in exactly the same position as me. I am trying to get in shape for my holiday in 4 weeks time. I too struggle to shift the slight extra weight around my abdomen and i also struggle with a little bit of fat around my lower back.
