Getting the Abs you've always wanted

Probably the most common area that people want to focus their weight loss is around the stomach area. Whether it's to lose the love handles, drop the baby weight or get rid of the beer belly, people always ask me how they can get the perfect stomach! In response I always give the same answer.....

It's down to hard work, determination and making your training and nutrition a priority. There is no quick fix, no magic exercise and or miracle supplement you can take. It is 100% down to correct exercise planning and good clean nutrition. So where do you start.......

Well probably the best place to start is to get the nutrition right. Even if you are doing the correct exercises poor nutrition can ruin all the hard work you are putting in at the gym. Common problems are over eating carbohydrates, large portion sizes and not drinking enough water. These 3 things alone will stop you achieving the results you desire, this is why a well planned nutritional guide is so important.

Once your nutrition is sorted then you need to look at the exercise you are doing. If you are spending hours down the gym doing the wrong exercises or only training once or twice a week and expecting to get a perfect six pack then you are extremely unlikely to succeed. The keys to success for any training plan are the following;

Specificity - Are the exercises you doing specific to you needs?
Technique - Are you perform the exercises with perfect technique to make sure the correct muscles are working?
Order - Are you performing the exercises in the correct order (particular important when training abdominal's)
Variety - Are you varying the types are exercises you are doing, so the body doesn't become to use to a particular movement?
Rest, Sets & Reps - Are you performing the right amount of reps and sets and having the correct amount of rest to obtain maximum benefit for your program.
If you follow the above training principles and maintain a good level of nutrition then I guarantee you will succeed in achieving your training goal.
