Things have been super busy for a while and I haven't been able to visit this site and keep to my exersize regime but it really helps so I'm starting a new diary and will log in for at least 15 minutes a day to record progress. I've gone up to 137.8 since I was last here which isn't terrible but I've been at this range for like the past to months because I've been eating whatever and not working out at all.

I saw the trivia on the biggest loser that sad most people gain 7 pounds between Thanksgiving and Christmas and I don't want to join that statistic! If I can get to the 120's by the end of Christmas I will be happy and on schedule.

--What is your current height and weight?
I just weighed in at 137.8 and my height is 5'1"

--If you were at an ideal weight now, what would that weight be?
My ideal weight is around 111 to 115

--At what weight would you like to be at four months from now?
In four months I would like to be at 118 to 115

--Why do you want to lose weight?
Because I'm overweight and to be able to wear clothes when we move to Japan in the spring.

--Do you want to lose weight for a specific life event such as wedding or reunion? If so, when is that event?
I would like to get down to 120 before we move.

--What obstacles could get between you and your weight loss goals?
Myself, finding time to focus, and Starbucks.

--Why do you think that you now have a weight problem?
I gained weight due to pregnancy.

--What lifestyle changes do you think would help you lose weight?
I need to work out and keep track of my calories to lose the weight and go back to what I was doing before pregnancy with working out to maintain.

--Do you cook at home often? If so, what do you cook?
I cook at home almost everyday unless we go out on the weekend or to Disney.

--How often do you go out to eat? Where do you go?
Not often, we got to Panera bread, Starbucks, or to Japanese or Thai restaurant.

--What are your three favorite foods?
Fancy cakes, Cuban food, Japanese food

--What are three things you can do differently when it comes to food?
Eat more consistently. When I'm super stressed I tend to not eat or eat too much su I just need to eat the same amount and the correct foods on a consistent basis.

--If you woke up tomorrow and your body was exactly the way you want it, what would be different?
I could wear my clothes again!!

--Do you eat when you are not hungry?
If I'm stressed.

--Do you binge eat (large amounts at a time)?
No

--Do you hide your food or eat in secret?
No

--Do you eat when you are sad, nervous, or depressed?
Yes

--Do you eat as a reward?
To celebrate an event we go to restaurants but never as a reward fo weightloss, lol.

--Do you eat while watching TV or using the computer?
Sometimes.

--What do you normally eat for a meal?
Usually Japanese rice with something.

--What type of snacks do you eat?
Fruits, granola, and if I'm bad I eat chocolate and coffee.

--In terms of exercise, what, if anything, are you currently doing?
I just started going to the gym again.

--Where do you go for exercise? A local public gym? School/work gym? Home?
I go to the YMCA now.

--What, if anything, are your three favorite types of exercise?
I like the eliptical, the stairmaster, and the weight machines.

--What is your daily/weekly/monthly/yearly motivation to move towards your goals?
Moving down a size and tossing my old clothes is my best motivation.

--Do you have rewards for certain goals?
My reward is buying a smaller clothing size.

Thanks Mal, hope you have sucess too.:) I just came back from the gym and did 40 minutes on the eliptical, 15 minutes on the stairmaster, and some different weights. I hadn't been in a while so it's harder than where I was at before but after a week or two I think I'll be able to work out longer and harder again. The hardest part was actually getting back to the gym again after gaining a couple of pounds but if I didn't go then those couple of pounds would have multiplied into many more and it would have been worse so that was my motivation.

Hi there! I'm glad to see you're back. I was wondering where you disappeared to.

Aren't you moving to Japan soon? FIL came to visit, didn't he? how did that go?

Hi BB! FIL did come to visit and he had a really nice time and was really happy to meet his grandson. I haven't been on because we have been getting ready for the move and we spent a week in Miami for thanksgiving. Our passports are almost completely in order and we are looking for apartments and organizing what we are taking with us, what we are sending by ship and what we are not taking. It is a lot of work and there is not a lot of time left because we are leaving late february or early march. We will be purchasing the plane ticket soon because we want to reserve the baby bassinet and meal for the little one and then when my passport gets back I can apply for the spouse visa.:willy_nilly:

That is a lot of work--especially with a baby.

The spouse visa will probably be a pain in the rear. Are you going for residency, or just a short-term visa?

Believe it or not BB the spouse visa is going to be one of the easiest parts. It's free and takes 4 days to process so we will have it right away and I have the right to work in the country. I think you have to renew it every three years but I'm not applying for permanent residency because it is too much work for too little benefit.

I'm down to 134 and just two pounds away from not being overweight according to bmi. Unfortunately I'm very unhappy about the way it has been happening. It started ok with eating well and going to the gym but they had a big lay off at my husbands company right before Christmas and we had to cut the gym membership. The good thing is that he was going to have to quit anyways but it makes things more inconvenient and we will probably leave about a month early as a result. He has a new temporary job until we go but my stress level has been terrible and as a result I haven't been eating well. I know I'm going to pay for it later when the stress wears off and I start eating normally but I guess right now I'll just take the weightloss and deal with that later. One thing for sure though once I make it to the 120's I'm never going back to the 130's ever again, my clothes are much closer to being wearable and I already went through the closet getting rid of all the clothes I won't need anymore.

We bought our plane tickets so I'm feeling much better and have started eating better. I went up to 135 again but came back down to a new low of 133.6 so I'm back on track. Will it be possible to make it to 129 by Christmas?? I don't know but anythings possible so I'm going to keep at it and see what happens.

Welcome back to the forum! I'm new around here, but I've found it a help so far.

You're moving to Japan? That is so exciting! From what is said in the posts, I'm guessing that your husband is Japanese?

Anyway, congratulations on your weight loss so far. Keep up the great work!

Hi Brakel, welcome to the forum! Yes, we are moving to Japan this February. It's exciting and wonderful but also scary because my Japanese level has gone down so much since we were last there. My husband is Japanese but he is no help to me practicing the language since we mostly speak to each other in English. Good luck on your weight loss too!!

Merry Christmas! Getting through the next few days without gaining weight is going to be nuts but I worked so hard to get down to 131!! I'm just going to eat smaller portions and do my best. Good luck to everyone else out there too, we can definately do it!

Wow tropicalgirl, I can't believe you're all set to move to Japan. How very exciting to start off the new year in a totally new culture and environment. You will surely drop your weight once you're there I would think. But I wouldn't worry too much about it right now seeing as you have so many other things to focus on now..like packing and sorting and organizing and planning. Cant wait to hear about your new place in Japan. Keep us posted on how it goes!

Hey Blancita! Just one month to go and while I'm doing my best to focus on weight loss. We have so much going on it's getting hard but you are right I shouldn't worry too much because the weight will definately come off easier after the move.

Of course with the holidays my weight went up to 133 so I'm trying to get in back down. Maybe I'll do some jump roping today! Good luck to everyone trying to lose holiday weight!

Wow TG, I'm envious but so happy for you! Good for you!

You have come so far too and lost more weight than me so I envy you too! We will both reach our goals as long as we keep at it! You would not believe that at my supermarket today they were giving away plates of those holiday cookies, so evil! Reluntantly I walked away from the temptation although I did look back a few times...:blush5:

We have exacly one week to go before we leave and I've been able to make it to 125 lbs. I hope I can lose more and if by some miracle I could make it to 120 I would be ecstatic but I'm not going to be unrealistic either so if I don't that's ok too. I'm going to try going on more walks with the baby and see what happens. I haven't been eating any sweets for a week but two weeks ago I was very bad and eating take out and sweets although strangely enough I only gained like 2 lbs. So here goes I'm going to give it my best shot!:)
