Getting Healthy

Time to keep a diary of all the weight loss and toning emotions and progress. This seems like a good place for it. Disclaimer: there might be far too much venting so sorry in advance! So into this, so, so, so up for losing now. Got two months until I start uni, I can make this count.

30 Day Shred and running is going well so far.

Hang in there, Chloe.

Sigh.

I do not want to run tonight.

I just have to remember the body I want and how I'm going to get there. *digs deep for motivation*

Uuuuurgh. No motivation, no desire to put myself through the living hell that is running tonight. I much prefer working out, I just wish I could afford a gym membership. Just remember, once it becomes easier, you'll begin to enjoy it. That's what Q said. And she'd know, of all people, she'd know, right?

I feel so miserable. I hate my body. I don't want to eat. I need to get these thoughts out of my head though. I must eat. It's essential. Remember that you'll look better for eating anyway.

This isn't about hating your body. This is about loving your body and looking after it as best you can. In a month your body will probably be way better anyway, and that's the best motivation. It's not like I have too far to go. Only a stone really.

Don´t beat yourself up girl, practise acknowledging every positive thing you do for yourself and every negative thing you DON´T do. Give yourself credit, every time you get the chance. Weight loss that feels like torture won´t last, and apart from that you deserve to be nice to yourself.

Thanks LaMaria. I appreciate that. I went for the run in the end, and I managed to do it without stopping for the first time! I'm so proud of myself. We're going to extend the runs now. And I'm loving 30DS. Just had a slip-up. But I'm doing OK.

I can do this.

Think I'm due a rest day today. Anyway, my toe has an infection and I don't want it getting any worse, so maybe I'll skip the running today. But then I won't be able to run tomorrow as I'm working all day:/ Sigh. I hope my progress doesn't take a backwards turn.

Time for some granola.

I feel depressed. Hdjiwkwjqnjdiwhbfjeie stupid depression, stupid head, stupid mental health. I knew going so long not feeling like this was too good to be true. I want to give up, I'm struggling to stay motivated.

Fatfatfatfatfatfatfatfat. F. A. T.

Have you thought about doing a different form of exercise instead of running and feeling good about that accomplishment?
Exercise can help in the fight against feeling down - and so can a little self congratulation.

Even if we cannot do what we want to do (due to injury for instance) we can still do something positive.

Missing out on a day of running will do no long term harm.

Had yet another day of feeling sorry for myself. I can't run tonight because of my toe but I did the 30DS and I will tomorrow and Saturday too, then hopefully back to running alongside this on Sunday.

I must remember the lack of long term damage missing a couple of days of running will do!

My mum makes me eat too much which makes me want to purge. I said I was stuffed after dinner just now, the response? 'I don't believe you.' I was full up half way through but I knew she'd make me sit and eat it. I'm an adult for God's sake. Why does she treat me like I'm a child still? Sigh.

Time to look at some pictures of bodies I want to call my own to prevent a binge sesh.

On a lighter note though, I've decided to get a belly button piercing once I feel comfortable with my size. I'm wondering if I should book it now to push me to lose the weight/tone up, or wait until I'm ready before booking it. I think if I keep working this hard I'll be ready in a month or so. Hmmmm.

Day off yesterday... Not sure how I feel about that still. Oh well, just worked my bum off with Jillian and I'm running later. You can do this Chloe! Gutted about yesterday's slip-up. Hmmmm I need some motivation.

Did you read Cate´s thread in the motivation section? She has tons of great quotes that I keep coming back to.

'You've lost a noticeable amount of weight already.'

'Your legs look toned.'

You look fine, you can go back to your old ways now.

No. Make it worthwhile. Remember how awesome you could look for that trip to Paris. You could be 5lbs lighter by then.

ARGH STUPID DEVIL VOICES GO AWAY LEAVE ME ALONE AND LET ME STAY MOTOVATED PLEAAAAASE.

Bored, may as well...

What is your current height and weight?
5'8", ~140lbs.

If you were at an ideal weight now, what would that weight be?
~126lbs.

At what weight would you like to be at four months from now?
~126lbs.

Why do you want to lose weight?
Because I want to feel comfortable in my own skin again.

Do you want to lose weight for a specific life event such as wedding or reunion? If so, when is that event?
Not really, I guess I want to look hot for when I start university but otherwise, no.

What obstacles could get between you and your weight loss goals?
Junk food. The weather.

Why do you think that you now have a weight problem?
I didn't exercise at all.

What lifestyle changes do you think would help you lose weight?
Exercise, portion control, stopping eating when I'm full up.

Have you lost weight in the past? If so, what has worked in the past to help you lose weight?
Yes; a couple of years ago I lost half a stone in about six weeks by eating 1200 calories per day but it soon got boring and I binged and quit.

Why do you believe that you did not lose weight or you gained the weight back?
It just isn't sustainable to not exercise but hardly eat.

What, if anything, has not worked for you in the past in helping you to lose weight? Why do you think it did not work?
Dieting. I can't make diets work.

Would you try writing down all food and drink consumed for a given period of time?
Yeah, I've done that before, it's helpful.

Do you cook at home often? If so, what do you cook?
Not often, but I do cook.

How often do you go out to eat? Where do you go?
Hardly ever. Can't afford it:p And it's far too easy to devour like 1000+kcal in a restaurant without even realising.

What are your three favorite foods?
Bread, pancakes, pasta.

What are your three favorite restaurants?
They're all local pubs.

What are three things you can do differently when it comes to food?
1. Eat less.
2. Eat more fruit.
3. Eat little and often.

If you woke up tomorrow and your body was exactly the way you want it, what would be different?
I'd be slimmer. Flat stomach. Skinny legs...

Do you eat when you are not hungry?
Not often.

Do you binge eat (large amounts at a time)?
Rarely.

Do you hide your food or eat in secret?
Not anymore. I have been known to.

Do you eat when you are sad, nervous, or depressed?
Sometimes.

Do you eat as a reward?
Sometimes.

Do you eat while watching TV or using the computer?
Sometimes.

What do you normally eat for a meal?
It really depends but I do eat healthily.

What type of snacks do you eat?
Chocolate, fruit, bread and hummus, olives.

In terms of exercise, what, if anything, are you currently doing?
30 day shred and running.

Where do you go for exercise? A local public gym? School/work gym? Home?
I do the 30DS in my living room and I run in the forest behind my house.

What, if anything, are your three favorite types of exercise?
I loved golf back in the day, I love to swim (might go swimming sometime this week actually) and tennis is pretty fun too.

What is your daily/weekly/monthly/yearly motivation to move towards your goals?
Feeling hot, and looking at girls with better bodies than me and thinking if they can, I can.

Do you have rewards for certain goals?
Sometimes. I'm going to get a belly-button piercing at 130lbs. Eeeep! Can't wait!

:) If I weighed 130 lbs I´d be dead. Funny how different we all are! Hope running went well and you´re feeling good about yourself. What did you have for dinner?
