Ok, here we go. Tried OA....not religious, couldn't stand it. Found this forum but not sure, its laid out so strangely. Guess I'll get used to it.

I have roughly 60 pounds to lose. Since quitting smoking, I know I'm over 200. I just don't know how much...scared to look.

Not counting calories, doing any "plan", all that crap just goes by the wayside in a couple of days, anyway. Three meals a day, no snacks, 30 minutes of exercise. If that doesn't do it, I'm going to jump off something substantially high, break both my legs and will not be able to make it to the cupboard or the fridge. I've had enough of this gut getting in my way. I can't even tie my shoes. I'm not a kid anymore, but I'm too young for this.

So here we go. Had breakfast, had lunch. Nothing in my mouth till dinner. Sounds easy, doesn't it. Yeah, so easy. :banghead:

Ok, so if you don't want to count calories, do any "plan" or all that crap, 3 meals a day and exercise will not help entirely. Here is a lil advice from my own experience. That's what we all come on here for, right? I dont' count calories, or do any major plan, but I have been able to lose weight.

1. Drink lots of water 80-100 ozs a day.:drool5:
2. Eat Breakfast, something rather then nothing to kick start the metabolism.:driving:
3. Eat 4-6 smaller meals rather then 3 larger meals.
4. You body needs to be feed approximately every 3 hours to keep the metabolism going, otherwise it will start to go into starvation mode and store fat. If you feel hungry, you're too late and should have eaten something sooner.:banghead:
5. 30 Minutes of intense exercise atleast 3-4 days a week.:auto:

It may take a week or so to get "your" routine down but don't give up. Most individuals do not see actual "fat loss" for approximately 3 weeks. The initial large quick weight loss in the first few weeks is water loss from sweating.

Just don't give up and totally do not start smoking again. YOU CAN DO IT!

Thanks, SMabrey, I'll consider your advise. Trouble is, i don't want to eat snacks. I have no control over when to stop, so i think I'm better off without them, really. Second, I have to shoot up with insulin every time I eat anything and I'm really getting sick of the needles. Three shots day is quite enough. My snacking is making me a pin cushion.

Anyway, its just like quitting smoking. Distract myself, find something else to do. I'll probably be cleaning like a maniac again, just like when I first quit smoking. I have another problem, too. I work two night shifts a week, 12 hours 7p-7a. I have absolutely no idea when I should eat on the days my days and nights are turned around. But I'll deal, I guess.

BTW, I saw your pictures. You don't look so bad at all. A little working out and you'll look really good. When I was your age, I worked out steadily and in three months, I looked great. Your age is your advantage. Good luck to you.

Well my big day was yesterday and it ended in diaster like all the other days. Today I try again.

Got on the scale....207.5. Ridiculous. Something's got to give and it better be me before its my pant's seams.

Today I am not snacking, and i'm getting on the exercize bike for 30 minutes or doing 30 minutes of aerobics. I know I can do this. Im so sick of me.
